The Uniform Project – 1 Kleid für 365 Tage

Fundraising 2.0 oder wie man mit einem Kleid durchs Jahr kommt. Die Inderin Sheena Matheiken macht uns mit ihrem “The Uniform Project” vor, wie man Mode und Charity auf sympathische und kreative Weise verbindet. Mit dem Ziel, Aufmerksamkeit und Spendengelder für die Non-Profit Organisation Akanksha zu generieren wird Sheena Matheiken ein Jahr lang ein Kleid tragen, es täglich anders inszenieren und dies auf ihrem Blog dokumentieren. In ihren Worten:

“There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day I will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative licenses to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade’s boudoir.“

Die Aufgabe, ein Kleid zu schneidern, das durchs ganze Jahr tragbar bleibt wurde wie folgt gelöst:
“The mastermind behind the uniform dress is my friend and designer, Eliza Starbuck. We took inspiration from one of my staple dresses, improving upon the shape and fit to add on some seasonal versatility. The dress is designed so it can be worn both ways, front and back, and also as an open tunic. It’s made from a durable, breathable cotton, good for New York summers and good for layering in cooler seasons. With deep hidden pockets to appease my deep aversion for carrying purses.”

Ob Sheena Matheiken nun tatsächlich Tag für Tag die Looks trägt in denen sie sich fotografiert, oder ob sie einfach nette Fotos schießt bleibt zwar offen. Meine Daumen gehen jedoch hoch für die Idee und ihre Umsetzung und ich empfehlen allen, die sich im Rahmen von “The Uniform Project” engagieren möchten hier weiter zu lesen.
